H.R. No. 1911 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Students from North Loop Elementary School in the Ysleta Independent School District in El Paso have traveled to Austin to participate in the Texas Capitol Schoolhouse event on May 11, 2009; and WHEREAS, This annual gathering showcases for legislators, other state leaders, and the public how progressive technology is improving public schools and enhancing the learning process; and WHEREAS, One of just 14 schools statewide selected to participate, North Loop Elementary is represented by third graders Andre Woodson and Christopher Rivera and fourth graders Analysa Guardado and Jazmyn Encerrado, who are accompanied by campus technology coordinator Cristina Cedillo and principal Anthony Fraga; and WHEREAS, The delegation from North Loop is demonstrating how even its youngest students are attaining impressive proficiency using computers and web-based programs by presenting Jaguar Radio Web, a student forum for classroom topics that uses podcasts and vodcasts; and WHEREAS, Evolving technology continues to improve our lives and the way we learn, and these students from North Loop Elementary School are to be saluted for taking full advantage of these exciting new advancements; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend the members of the delegation from North Loop Elementary School on their participation in the Texas Capitol Schoolhouse event and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
