 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Chase Alexander Giles of Boy Scouts of America Troop
 No. 497 in Waco has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
 accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
 WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
 honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
 scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
 criteria, Alex Giles earned 29 merit badges and successfully
 completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community;
 leading a group of 18 scouts, he constructed a one-half mile
 cross-country exercise course at Warren Park in Hewitt; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Stan and Robyn Giles, this fine young
 Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout
 his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his
 fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting
 offers; a freshman at Midway High School, Mr. Giles is a member of
 the football team and the men's choir; he is also an active member
 of his youth group at First Baptist Church of Woodway; and
 WHEREAS, His dedication to excellence and his perseverance in
 the pursuit of his goals have proven Eagle Scout Giles worthy to
 stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride
 on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Chase Alexander Giles on achieving
 the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
 continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Giles as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
