R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Ella Bouldin Women's Missionary Society of
Houston is honoring the participants of the 8th Annual Three Score
and Ten Senior Recognition Program with a reception and fashion
show on June 20, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Recognizing the contributions to the missionary
society by senior members, aged 70 and older, this event also
acknowledges the role they have played in imparting their wisdom
and knowledge to the church's membership; and
WHEREAS, The program encompasses five levels of
participation, and the honorees include Failure Henderson, Creola
Jenkins, Maude Jones, George McGowan, Ralph Darden, Ida Cox, Carnie
Johnson, Mary Alice Jordan, Mary H. Reed, Venetia Reuben, Darlena
Williams, Joyce Baldwin, Earnice Barton, Jessie Beeks, Geneva
Bilton, Madora Campbell, Clarice Johnson, Mae Fenceroy, Maggie
Feggett, Frankie Mays, Thelma McCarthy, Nathaniel Norris, Charlene
Norris, Mozell Baggett, Lorenza Barnes, Zelma Barton, Mary Cornett,
Louise Devaughn, Esther Eldridge, Alfred Flanagan, Rachel Lee,
Emdella Lewis, Tyler Smith, Camilla Ward, Virgie Washington, Joyce
Wiley, Jean Bolden, Carrie Burks, Doris Harris, Marie Herndon,
Gloria Houston, Jewell Houston, Marjorie Humphrey, Marie Sanders,
Marcellous Stevens, Helen Thurston, Celestine Brantley, Harold
Reed, Celeste Smith, Horace Smith, Harold Stovall, Aline White,
Norma J. Turk, Rev. Herman P. Reese, Mattye J. Reese, and Sophia
Moses; and
WHEREAS, The Three Score and Ten Senior Recognition Program
appreciates the many ways elder Texans contribute to the Lone Star
State, and it serves as a source of support, encouragement, and
pleasure for members of the society who deserve all the best life
has to offer; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the Three Score and Ten Senior
Recognition Program, hosted by the Ella Bouldin Women's Missionary
Society, and congratulate its honorees; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Ella Bouldin Women's Missionary Society as an
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
