| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Regina Campos of Driftwood was selected to |

| 6 | 6 | | participate in the 2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership |

| 7 | 7 | | Program, and during the 81st Legislative Session, she has ably |

| 8 | 8 | | served her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State |

| 9 | 9 | | Representative Veronica Gonzales; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to serve as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | American Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Texas Legislature; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Ms. |

| 17 | 17 | | Campos holds a bachelor of arts degree in Latin American studies; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | she has a special interest in education, partly gained from her |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | previous experience as a center supervisor for Extend-A-Care, where |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | she developed curricula and worked to promote increased |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | effectiveness among staff at Austin-area elementary schools; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at the State Capitol, |

| 23 | 23 | | Ms. Campos has been of great assistance to Representative |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Gonzales's office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | citizens of the Lone Star State; she has performed her duties as a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and she |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby honor Regina Campos as a participant in the 2009 |

| 30 | 30 | | Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend her for |
