| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Samantha Dominguez of El Paso was selected to |

| 6 | 6 | | participate in the 2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership |

| 7 | 7 | | Program, and during the 81st Legislative Session, she has ably |

| 8 | 8 | | served her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State |

| 9 | 9 | | Representative Chente Quintanilla; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to serve as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | American Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Texas Legislature; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Dominguez graduated from The University of Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | at El Paso, where she was on the Dean's List; dedicated to giving |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | back to her community, she has tutored young people through |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Advancement Via Individual Determination and the Girl Scouts of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | America and created a program to pair Hispanic students with an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | attorney from the Mexican American Bar Association; in 2008, she |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | received a Gold President's Volunteer Service Award in recognition |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of her exemplary efforts; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at the State Capitol, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Ms. Dominguez has been of great assistance to Representative |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Quintanilla's office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | citizens of the Lone Star State; she has performed her duties as a |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and she |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby honor Samantha Dominguez as a participant in the |

| 32 | 32 | | 2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend her |
