| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Alondra Johnson of Buda was selected to participate |

| 6 | 6 | | in the 2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, and |

| 7 | 7 | | during the 81st Legislative Session, she has ably served her fellow |

| 8 | 8 | | Texans as an aide in the office of State Representative Rafael |

| 9 | 9 | | Anchia; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to serve as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | American Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Texas Legislature; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Ms. |

| 17 | 17 | | Johnson holds a bachelor of arts degree in government and Mexican |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | American studies and has had internships with the Office of the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Attorney General of Texas and the Travis County Sheriff's Office; |

| 20 | 20 | | she served as president of the UT-Austin chapter of Minority Women |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Pursuing Law and volunteers with the Political Asylum Project of |

| 22 | 22 | | Austin; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at the State Capitol, |

| 24 | 24 | | Ms. Johnson has been of great assistance to Representative Anchia's |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing citizens of the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Lone Star State; she has performed her duties as a legislative aide |

| 27 | 27 | | with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and she may indeed look |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor Alondra Johnson as a participant in the |
