5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Oscar Padilla of El Paso was selected to participate |

6 | 6 | | in the 2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, and |

7 | 7 | | during the 81st Legislative Session, he has ably served his fellow |

8 | 8 | | Texans as an aide in the office of State Representative Pete |

10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative |

11 | 11 | | Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding |

12 | 12 | | undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to serve as |

13 | 13 | | full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican |
---|
14 | 14 | | American Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the |

15 | 15 | | Texas Legislature; and |

16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Mr. |

17 | 17 | | Padilla has also worked as an intern for the El Paso Public Service |

18 | 18 | | Board; in that position, he assisted the chief water and wastewater |

19 | 19 | | economic analyst in the creation of a 20-year water consumption |
---|
20 | 20 | | forecast that will aid in the preservation of area water resources; |

21 | 21 | | in the summer of 2007, he participated in the Public Policy and |
---|
22 | 22 | | International Affairs Fellowship Program at the Woodrow Wilson |
---|
23 | 23 | | School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University; |

25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure at the State Capitol, |

26 | 26 | | Mr. Padilla has been of great assistance to Representative |

27 | 27 | | Gallego's office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing |

28 | 28 | | citizens of the Lone Star State; he has performed his duties as a |
---|
29 | 29 | | legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and he |
---|
30 | 30 | | may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it |

31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby honor Oscar Padilla as a participant in the 2009 |
