44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Dr. David Simmons has distinguished himself through
66 his able service as superintendent of the Richardson Independent
77 School District; and
88 WHEREAS, Dr. Simmons received his education from Stephen F.
99 Austin State University, earning his bachelor's degree in 1982 and
1010 his master's degree in education in 1987; continuing his studies,
1111 he earned a doctor of philosophy in education administration from
1212 Texas A&M University in 2001; and
1313 WHEREAS, Beginning his career as a teacher in Deer Park, Dr.
1414 Simmons went on to serve students as curriculum director,
1515 counselor, and principal; he gained further experience as assistant
1616 superintendent of Monahans-Wickett-Pyote ISD and as superintendent
1717 of the Wimberley, Presidio, Texas City, and Tyler ISDs; and
1818 WHEREAS, David Simmons has contributed greatly to the
1919 development of Richardson ISD, and his dedication to the district's
2020 students, teachers, and staff truly merits special recognition;
2121 now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2323 Legislature hereby commend Dr. David Simmons on his outstanding
2424 leadership of the Richardson Independent School District and extend
2525 to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2727 prepared for Dr. Simmons as an expression of high regard by the
2828 Texas House of Representatives.
