| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Benjamin H. Garza of the Edinburg Economedes Chapter |

| 6 | 6 | | of the FFA was awarded the Lone Star FFA Degree by the Texas FFA at |

| 7 | 7 | | the 80th annual state convention held in July 2008; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Lone Star FFA Degree is the highest degree |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | bestowed by the state association; the achievement recognizes |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | members for their agricultural awareness, leadership, career |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | development, and active involvement in their FFA chapter; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The son of Benjamin and Sonia Garza, Benjamin Garza |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | has been a valued member of the Edinburg Economedes FFA Chapter, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | serving the organization in such diverse roles as treasurer, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | chaplain, and president; this outstanding young man has also been |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | active in his church, benefiting others through his work with |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | children and as an altar server; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Those young people who devote themselves to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | advancing the goals of the FFA are building a brighter future for |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | themselves as well as contributing to the betterment of their |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | community, state, and nation, and it is most fitting that Benjamin |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Garza be recognized for his hard work and commitment; now, |

| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Benjamin H. Garza on his receipt of |

| 26 | 26 | | the Lone Star FFA Degree from the Texas FFA and extend to him |
