5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The life of an admired business owner, community |

6 | 6 | | leader, and wife and mother drew to a close with the untimely death |

7 | 7 | | of Laurie Bushong Lang of Boerne on September 24, 2008, at the age |
---|
8 | 8 | | of 50; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born on September 20, 1958, to Perry and Joan |
---|
10 | 10 | | Bushong in Kerrville, the former Laurie Bushong grew up on Cedar |
---|
11 | 11 | | Springs Ranch in Mountain Home; she graduated from Rocksprings High |
---|
12 | 12 | | School and earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from |
---|
13 | 13 | | Texas A&M University; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, On July 12, 1980, she exchanged vows with Michael |
---|
15 | 15 | | David Lang; the couple enjoyed a rewarding marriage of more than 28 |
---|
16 | 16 | | years and were blessed with two children, Jeff and Sarah; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The family settled in San Antonio in 1982, where |
---|
18 | 18 | | Mrs. Lang worked for attorney Steve Kosub; in 1991, she was hired to |
---|
19 | 19 | | manage the Kendall County Abstract Company, which she and her |
---|
20 | 20 | | husband later purchased; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Lang was very active in her faith and a |
---|
22 | 22 | | dedicated member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Boerne; in addition, |
---|
23 | 23 | | she was a member and former president of the Sunrise Rotary Club of |
---|
24 | 24 | | Boerne and served on the board of trustees for the Boerne |
---|
25 | 25 | | Independent School District in 2004 and 2005; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Always one to find great joy in the happiness of |
---|
27 | 27 | | others, Laurie Lang never forgot a birthday, an anniversary, or any |
---|
28 | 28 | | special occasion in the lives of her friends, family, and |
---|
29 | 29 | | employees; although she is deeply missed, memories of the many |
---|
30 | 30 | | happy times spent in her company remain to comfort all those who |
---|
31 | 31 | | held her dear; now, therefore, be it |
---|
32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
---|
33 | 33 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Laurie Bushong Lang |
---|
34 | 34 | | and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
---|
35 | 35 | | husband, Michael David Lang; to her children, Jeffrey Michael Lang |
---|
36 | 36 | | and Sarah Lang Goodman; to her parents, Perry and Joan Bushong; to |

37 | 37 | | her sister, Jane Brown; and to her other relatives and many friends; |
