 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Alexis Dugger has provided indispensable support to
 the office of Representative Marc Veasey during the 81st
 Legislative Session; and
 WHEREAS, Born to Alfreda Combs-Dugger and Melvin Dugger in
 St. Louis, Missouri, Ms. Dugger earned an undergraduate biomedical
 education program scholarship and graduated magna cum laude from
 Langston University with a degree in psychology; and
 WHEREAS, This talented young woman planned to attend medical
 school and become a psychiatrist, but ultimately switched her
 emphasis and enrolled in the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where
 she has been active in the Black Law Students Association and the
 Government Law Society and served as editor-in-chief of the law
 school newspaper; and
 WHEREAS, A participant in the Texas Legislative Internship
 Program, Ms. Dugger has excelled in her legislative work thanks to
 the guidance, support, and mentorship of Representative Veasey,
 office chief of staff Richard McPike, and legislative director and
 attorney Anne Hagan; and
 WHEREAS, By sharing her unique perspective on issues and
 contributing countless hours of hard work, Alexis Dugger has helped
 to ensure that the constituents of House District 95 and the
 citizens of the Lone Star State are well served, and she is indeed
 deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Alexis Dugger for her contributions to
 the office of State Representative Marc Veasey and extend to her
 sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Dugger as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
