| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Alexis Dugger has provided indispensable support to |

| 6 | 6 | | the office of Representative Marc Veasey during the 81st |

| 7 | 7 | | Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born to Alfreda Combs-Dugger and Melvin Dugger in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | St. Louis, Missouri, Ms. Dugger earned an undergraduate biomedical |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | education program scholarship and graduated magna cum laude from |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Langston University with a degree in psychology; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, This talented young woman planned to attend medical |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | school and become a psychiatrist, but ultimately switched her |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | emphasis and enrolled in the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | she has been active in the Black Law Students Association and the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Government Law Society and served as editor-in-chief of the law |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | school newspaper; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A participant in the Texas Legislative Internship |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Program, Ms. Dugger has excelled in her legislative work thanks to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the guidance, support, and mentorship of Representative Veasey, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | office chief of staff Richard McPike, and legislative director and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | attorney Anne Hagan; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, By sharing her unique perspective on issues and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | contributing countless hours of hard work, Alexis Dugger has helped |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to ensure that the constituents of House District 95 and the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | citizens of the Lone Star State are well served, and she is indeed |

| 27 | 27 | | deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend Alexis Dugger for her contributions to |
