H.R. No. 2077
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Calhoun County Airport in Port Lavaca has been named
the 2009 Most Improved Airport of the Year by the Texas Department
of Transportation Aviation Division; and
WHEREAS, This honor is a fitting tribute to the significant
changes that have taken place at the airport in recent years, which
include investment in new hangars and above-ground fuel tanks, and
a new fueling apron; and
WHEREAS, The airport has entered into a contract with a new
private contractor, Calhoun Air Center, which offers fueling and
repair services as well as flight training for both beginning and
experienced pilots; and
WHEREAS, By improving the facilities and the level of
service, and by planning for further improvements in the future,
Calhoun County Airport has become a vital asset to the county, and
the receipt of this prestigious award provides a fitting
opportunity to recognize the airport and its dedicated staff; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby honor Calhoun County Airport on being named the
2009 Most Improved Airport of the Year by the Texas Department of
Transportation Aviation Division and congratulate all those
involved with the facility for a job well done; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the airport as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
