| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Calhoun County Airport in Port Lavaca has been named |

| 6 | 6 | | the 2009 Most Improved Airport of the Year by the Texas Department |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of Transportation Aviation Division; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This honor is a fitting tribute to the significant |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | changes that have taken place at the airport in recent years, which |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | include investment in new hangars and above-ground fuel tanks, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | a new fueling apron; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The airport has entered into a contract with a new |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | private contractor, Calhoun Air Center, which offers fueling and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | repair services as well as flight training for both beginning and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | experienced pilots; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, By improving the facilities and the level of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | service, and by planning for further improvements in the future, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Calhoun County Airport has become a vital asset to the county, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the receipt of this prestigious award provides a fitting |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | opportunity to recognize the airport and its dedicated staff; now, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby honor Calhoun County Airport on being named the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 2009 Most Improved Airport of the Year by the Texas Department of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Transportation Aviation Division and congratulate all those |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | involved with the facility for a job well done; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
