H.R. No. 2080 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends of Raphael Wilbur Dutton, Jr., of Houston were deeply saddened by his passing on April 22, 2009, at the age of 96; and WHEREAS, Born on October 16, 1912, in Patterson, Louisiana, Raphael Dutton was the son of Raphael Wilbur Dutton, Sr., and Virginia Isabell Harris and the brother of Tillman, Harold, Marvin, Constance, and Marjorie; and WHEREAS, He served his country with distinction as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II and, following his honorable discharge, worked for many years for Texas Steel, until his retirement; and WHEREAS, Mr. Dutton and his beloved wife, Mattie, shared a fulfilling marriage that spanned more than 60 years, and the couple were blessed with a son, Charles; through the years, Mr. Dutton also experienced the joy of welcoming into their family three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; and WHEREAS, A loyal congregant of Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, Mr. Dutton inspired many with his deep commitment to his faith; and WHEREAS, Raphael Dutton lived a caring and purposeful life, and he will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who were fortunate enough to share in his love and friendship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Raphael Wilbur Dutton, Jr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his son, Charles Dutton; to his daughter-in-law, Rhonda Dutton; to his grandchildren, De Julius, Raphael, and DeDria; to his great-granddaughter, Kamron; to his sister, Marjorie Perry; to his sisters-in-law, Mildred Dutton, Amanda Dutton, and Helen Randle; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Raphael Wilbur Dutton, Jr. Dutton ______________________________ Speaker of the House I certify that H.R.
