| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Brittany Taylor was honored for her achievements at |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This gathering recognized 23 students who have |

| 9 | 9 | | distinguished themselves through their academic pursuits and civic |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | involvement; the awards pay tribute to the memory of Reginald Keith |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Guillory, a student, musician, and member of Mount Pleasant Baptist |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Church in Houston, whose tragic death in an automobile accident at |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the age of 18 prompted area residents to create a scholarship fund; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Brittany Taylor is the daughter of Regina Miller; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | she is an 11th-grade student at the High School for the Performing |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and Visual Arts and a member of Freewill Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This talented singer and performer has played |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | leading roles on stage and earned first place in solo ensemble, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | she served as president of the girls' chorus in middle school; she |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | is presently a member of the Leadership Office and Training Corps |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and is looking forward to attending college; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This fine young Texan is an exemplary member of her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | community and a source of tremendous pride to her family and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | teachers, and she may indeed look with anticipation and optimism |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | toward the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead; now, |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Brittany Taylor on being named a |
