 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Skyler K. Reynolds of Houston was honored for her
 achievements at the Reginald Keith Guillory Scholarship Luncheon on
 April 18, 2009; and
 WHEREAS, This gathering recognized 23 students who have
 distinguished themselves through their academic pursuits and civic
 involvement; the awards pay tribute to the memory of Reginald Keith
 Guillory, a student, musician, and member of Mount Pleasant Baptist
 Church in Houston, whose tragic death in an automobile accident at
 the age of 18 prompted area residents to create a scholarship fund;
 and
 WHEREAS, A most deserving recipient of this award, Ms.
 Reynolds is the daughter of Frank and Felita Reynolds and a member
 of New Spirit of Life Missionary Baptist Church; she is graduating
 with honors from Booker T. Washington High School for the
 Engineering Professions and plans to attend Texas A&M University,
 where she intends to work toward a career as a registered pediatric
 nurse; and
 WHEREAS, This fine young Texan is an exemplary member of her
 community and a source of tremendous pride to her family and
 teachers, and she may indeed look with anticipation and optimism
 toward the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Skyler K. Reynolds on her receipt
 of a 2009 Reginald Keith Guillory Scholarship and extend to her
 sincere best wishes for continued success in all of her endeavors;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Reynolds as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
