5	5	WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
6	6	memories of Sally Taylor of Blue Mountain Peak Ranch in Mason
7	7	County, who died on October 30, 2007, at the age of 60; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Ms. Taylor was born Sarah Vacher Hall on March 23,
9	9	1947, to Mike Hall and Sarah Putnam Hall in Brockton,
10	10	Massachusetts; she attended Thayer Academy in Braintree,
11	11	Massachusetts; and
12	12	WHEREAS, Married in 1966 to Richard Taylor, Ms. Taylor raised
13	13	a child and worked full-time while attending Framingham State
14	14	College, from which she graduated in 1982; the Taylors subsequently
15	15	moved to the Big Sur country of California, where Ms. Taylor worked
16	16	as corporate controller for Cisco Systems from 1989 to 1995; she
17	17	also served on the boards of the Thayer Academy and the Conservation
18	18	Agency; and
19	19	WHEREAS, After her retirement at the age of 49, Sally Taylor
20	20	and her husband traveled the world, touring the United States,
21	21	Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Africa by motorcycle; this adventurous
22	22	Texan further expressed her zest for life through her keen interest
23	23	in skiing, kayaking, skydiving, hang gliding, and automobile and
24	24	motorcycle racing; a lover of the outdoors, she also took great
25	25	pleasure in hiking, camping, and hunting; and
26	26	WHEREAS, In 2001, Ms. Taylor and her husband relocated to
27	27	Mason County and purchased a ranch, which they began developing
28	28	into a livestock, hunting, and ecotourism enterprise; in addition
29	29	to devoting countless hours to that undertaking, Ms. Taylor became
30	30	active in her new community, joining the Mason Chamber of Commerce,
31	31	the Red Hat Society, and the Mason Study Club; she also offered her
32	32	expertise in planning and budgeting to the City of Mason; and
33	33	WHEREAS, Sally Taylor lived a full and exciting life with
34	34	great enthusiasm, and the passion and commitment she brought to all
35	35	her endeavors have left a lasting imprint in the hearts of those who
36	36	knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it
37	37	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
38	38	Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Sally Taylor and
39	39	offer sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
40	40	husband, Richard Taylor; to her son, Byron P. Taylor; to her mother,
41	41	Sarah Hall; to her father, Captain Mike Hall; to her brother,
42	42	Michael Hall, and his wife, Judy; to her grandson, Daniel William
43	43	Taylor; to her friend, Suzie Paris; and to her other relatives and
44	44	friends; and, be it further
45	45	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
46	46	prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
47	47	Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sally
48	48	Taylor.
