44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the loss
66 of Rogelio M. Barba of Eagle Pass, who passed away on April 9, 2009,
77 at the age of 89; and
88 WHEREAS, Mr. Barba was born on December 2, 1919, to Miguel and
99 Francisca Barba and grew up in a family of nine children; he
1010 answered his nation's call to duty with service in France and the
1111 Rhineland during World War II; and
1212 WHEREAS, Following the war, Mr. Barba entered into a career
1313 in law enforcement with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission,
1414 working there for more than three decades; a former resident of
1515 Houston, he later moved to Eagle Pass, where he had previously spent
1616 vacations with his family; and
1717 WHEREAS, Rogelio Barba was a kind and generous man who
1818 enjoyed sharing his knowledge and wisdom with his many nieces and
1919 nephews, teaching them how to swim, play ball, and drive a car;
2020 although he will be deeply missed, he leaves his loved ones with
2121 countless fond memories of the happy times they spent in his
2222 company; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rogelio M. Barba and
2525 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his sister,
2626 Hortencia Barba; to his nieces and nephews; and to his other
2727 relatives and friends; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3030 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rogelio
3131 Barba.
