| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the loss |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | of Rogelio M. Barba of Eagle Pass, who passed away on April 9, 2009, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 89; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Barba was born on December 2, 1919, to Miguel and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Francisca Barba and grew up in a family of nine children; he |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | answered his nation's call to duty with service in France and the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Rhineland during World War II; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Following the war, Mr. Barba entered into a career |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in law enforcement with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | working there for more than three decades; a former resident of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Houston, he later moved to Eagle Pass, where he had previously spent |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | vacations with his family; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Rogelio Barba was a kind and generous man who |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | enjoyed sharing his knowledge and wisdom with his many nieces and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | nephews, teaching them how to swim, play ball, and drive a car; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | although he will be deeply missed, he leaves his loved ones with |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | countless fond memories of the happy times they spent in his |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | company; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rogelio M. Barba and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his sister, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Hortencia Barba; to his nieces and nephews; and to his other |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rogelio |
