|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |

| 10 | 10 | | intellect and aptitude, but four years of dedication to the highest |

| 11 | 11 | | academic standards; the student who garners this coveted |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | preparation are myriad; and |

| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being |

| 17 | 17 | | recognized as one of the highest achieving students in her class, |

| 18 | 18 | | the salutatorian is frequently the recipient of scholarships and |

| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Celeste Alvarez has |
