H.R. No. 214
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly
cause for celebration, and Helen Marie Davis of Terrell is
observing this noteworthy milestone in her life on February 12,
2009; and
WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mrs. Davis was born
in Paris in 1919 and arrived in her adopted hometown of Terrell in
1950; she and her husband, W. A. Davis, owned a successful dry
cleaning company, Unique Cleaners, for nearly half a century; and
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mrs. Davis has been a source of
wisdom and joy to those around her, including her three children,
Ronnie, Barbara, and Billy; and
WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother and a much-loved member of
her community, Helen Davis has earned a special place in the hearts
of all who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Helen Marie Davis on the joyous
occasion of her 90th birthday and extend to her heartfelt best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
