| 7 | 7 | | Evaluation Contest at the Oklahoma City Stockyards and Oklahoma |

| 8 | 8 | | State University on March 26 and 27, 2009; and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This is the third year in a row that the team from |

| 10 | 10 | | Texas Tech has won this prestigious national competition, which |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | encourages students to reach a more complete understanding of the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | food supply chain from conception to consumer; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Representing the Department of Meat Science and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Muscle Biology, the Texas Tech team won the swine, beef evaluation, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | breeding animal, market animal, and communication divisions, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | placed second in the meat and sheep divisions, earning 8,693 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | points, which put them 336 points above the second-place team; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Team member Drew Perez earned the highest number of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | individual points, while Ben Cammack, Cade Halfmann, Josh Flohr, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and Henry Ruiz finished in the top 10; and |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Coached by Ryan Rathmann, Judd Gardner, and Travis |

| 22 | 22 | | O'Quinn, the winning team also includes Tyler Cowie, Micah Dorsey, |

| 23 | 23 | | Shayna Dunlap, Paige Futrell, Josh Hasty, C. A. Jones, Matthew |

| 24 | 24 | | Morales, Trae Simmons, Olivia Tilly, Austin Voyles, and Shanna |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, These noteworthy Tech students have demonstrated |
