| 7 | 7 | | celebrate Cedar Creek Lake Area Day at the Capitol; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, More than 60,000 Texans reside near Cedar Creek |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Lake, which encompasses 38,000 acres and features 328 miles of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | picturesque shoreline; locals and tourists alike take advantage of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the state's largest residential lake by engaging in a wide range of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | outdoor activities, including boating, fishing, swimming, camping, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and golf; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, With a healthy blend of residential and business |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | interests, the region has much to offer citizens of growing |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | communities such as Kemp, Gun Barrel City, Eustace, Mabank, Seven |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Points, and Tool; and |

| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Area towns, while proud of their individual |

| 19 | 19 | | identities, also share the values and ideals of a caring, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | close-knit community; and |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Joining us in the chamber today are participants in |

| 22 | 22 | | Leadership Cedar Creek Lake, a program working to foster a more |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | informed and involved citizenry and to develop new leaders in |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Henderson County; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Cedar Creek Lake is one of our state's true |

| 26 | 26 | | treasures, and residents justifiably take great pride in the beauty |

| 27 | 27 | | and character of the area; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby recognize February 3, 2009, as Cedar Creek Lake |

| 30 | 30 | | Area Day at the State Capitol and extend to the delegation here |
