H.R. No. 2166 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Curtis Smith has provided invaluable service as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Solomon Ortiz, Jr., during the 81st Texas Legislative Session; and WHEREAS, A participant in the Texas Legislative Internship Program, Mr. Smith has had the opportunity to witness history in the making, and his myriad contributions as a staffer this session have proven the merit of the program for the employer as well as for the student; and WHEREAS, Mr. Smith recently graduated from Lamar University, where he had a double major in political science and history; he plans to continue his education to earn a master of public administration degree at the University of North Texas and pursue a career in government; and WHEREAS, During the course of his internship, Mr. Smith has earned the respect of his colleagues, taking on each new task with characteristic enthusiasm and dedication, and his work has greatly benefited constituents in House District 33 and people throughout the state; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend Curtis Smith on his outstanding tenure as a legislative intern and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Smith as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
