| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Curtis Smith has provided invaluable service as a |

| 6 | 6 | | legislative intern in the office of State Representative Solomon |

| 7 | 7 | | Ortiz, Jr., during the 81st Texas Legislative Session; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A participant in the Texas Legislative Internship |

| 9 | 9 | | Program, Mr. Smith has had the opportunity to witness history in the |

| 10 | 10 | | making, and his myriad contributions as a staffer this session have |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | proven the merit of the program for the employer as well as for the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | student; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Smith recently graduated from Lamar University, |

| 14 | 14 | | where he had a double major in political science and history; he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | plans to continue his education to earn a master of public |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | administration degree at the University of North Texas and pursue a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | career in government; and |

| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, During the course of his internship, Mr. Smith has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | earned the respect of his colleagues, taking on each new task with |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | characteristic enthusiasm and dedication, and his work has greatly |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | benefited constituents in House District 33 and people throughout |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the state; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby commend Curtis Smith on his outstanding tenure |

| 25 | 25 | | as a legislative intern and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
