55 WHEREAS, Curtis Smith has provided invaluable service as a
66 legislative intern in the office of State Representative Solomon
77 Ortiz, Jr., during the 81st Texas Legislative Session; and
88 WHEREAS, A participant in the Texas Legislative Internship
99 Program, Mr. Smith has had the opportunity to witness history in the
1010 making, and his myriad contributions as a staffer this session have
1111 proven the merit of the program for the employer as well as for the
1212 student; and
1313 WHEREAS, Mr. Smith recently graduated from Lamar University,
1414 where he had a double major in political science and history; he
1515 plans to continue his education to earn a master of public
1616 administration degree at the University of North Texas and pursue a
1717 career in government; and
1818 WHEREAS, During the course of his internship, Mr. Smith has
1919 earned the respect of his colleagues, taking on each new task with
2020 characteristic enthusiasm and dedication, and his work has greatly
2121 benefited constituents in House District 33 and people throughout
2222 the state; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby commend Curtis Smith on his outstanding tenure
2525 as a legislative intern and extend to him sincere best wishes for
2626 continued success and happiness; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for Mr. Smith as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2929 House of Representatives.
