R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Mark Jedow of Winston Churchill High School in San
Antonio has been named 2009 Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year by
the San Antonio Express-News; and
WHEREAS, After winning three state titles at Reagan High
School, Coach Jedow moved to Churchill High for the 2008-2009
season, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of the legendary
Al Marks; and
WHEREAS, Rising to the challenge, Coach Jedow led his squads
to regional and district titles and very strong performances at the
state meet; the Chargers girls' team claimed a silver medal at
state, and the boys' team finished the season as the fifth-place
team in Texas; and
WHEREAS, Exceptional coaches inspire athletes to perform at
the peak of their abilities, and Mark Jedow's commitment to
excellence indeed makes him a most deserving recipient of this
award; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Mark Jedow on being named 2009
Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year by the San Antonio
Express-News and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Coach Jedow as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
