55 WHEREAS, Gina Dylla of Sandra Day O'Connor High School in
66 Helotes has been named the 2009 Girls Soccer Coach of the Year by
77 the San Antonio Express-News; and
88 WHEREAS, In four years as a head coach, Coach Dylla has
99 compiled an impressive record of 87 wins, 18 losses, and 4 draws;
1010 under her inspired leadership, the O'Connor Panthers claimed their
1111 first District 28-5A championship in six years and advanced to the
1212 third round of the playoffs for only the fourth time in school
1313 history; and
1414 WHEREAS, After gaining experience at Southwest and Burbank
1515 High Schools, Coach Dylla made immediate and sweeping changes to
1616 the Panthers team when she became the O'Connor coach at the
1717 beginning of the 2008-2009 season, moving players to different
1818 positions from those they had previously played; at the end of the
1919 season, her rearranged squad held a record of 17 wins and 4 draws
2020 with only 3 losses, including a 20-game streak without a loss; and
2121 WHEREAS, Exceptional coaches inspire athletes to perform at
2222 the peak of their abilities, and Gina Dylla's commitment to
2323 excellence indeed makes her a most deserving recipient of this
2424 award; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Gina Dylla on being named 2009
2727 Girls Soccer Coach of the Year by the San Antonio Express-News and
2828 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
2929 further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for Coach Dylla as an expression of high regard by the
3232 Texas House of Representatives.
