| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sixteen-year-old Michelle Cabassol of Montgomery |

| 7 | 7 | | senior international medal in diving on May 2, 2009, at the FINA |

| 8 | 8 | | Canada Cup in Montreal; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This gifted athlete claimed the bronze medal in |

| 10 | 10 | | women's platform diving at the event, scoring 328.85 total points |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | for her dives; just one week earlier, she had won two national |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | titles at the Speedo USA Diving Spring National Championships in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Fort Lauderdale, Florida; in that competition, she scored a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | personal best of 378.60 points to claim first place in the women's |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | platform competition, and she teamed with Kaylea Arnett to win the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | duo's second consecutive national title in the 10-meter synchro |

|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Phillipe and Joelle Cabassol, Ms. |

| 19 | 19 | | Cabassol was born in Bedford; she started diving when she was five |

| 20 | 20 | | years old and also participated in gymnastics during her youth; now |

| 21 | 21 | | a sophomore at Montgomery High School, she is coached by Bob Gunter |

| 22 | 22 | | and trains at The Woodlands Diving Academy; her previous triumphs |

| 23 | 23 | | include back-to-back 4A state titles in diving in 2008 and 2009, and |

| 24 | 24 | | she has been named Girls Diver of the Year for two years in a row by |

| 25 | 25 | | The Houston Chronicle; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Michelle Cabassol's string of major victories |

| 27 | 27 | | represents the fruit of countless hours of hard work, and her |

| 28 | 28 | | admirable determination and commitment to excellence have allowed |

| 29 | 29 | | her to compete at the highest level of her sport; now, therefore, be |
