 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Shaine Mata of Mission contributed to the success of
 the Rio Grande Valley VA Hospital March to San Antonio on March
 14-20, 2009, through his diverse media coverage of the event; and
 WHEREAS, The 250-mile march, which began in Edinburg and
 culminated at the VA hospital in San Antonio, included members of
 Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, as well as veterans of
 Vietnam and other wars; and
 WHEREAS, A computer technician and Internet marketing
 consultant by trade, Mr. Mata is also an avid blogger and podcaster
 and the founder of Advantj Media and Social Media Club of the Rio
 Grande Valley; he photographed and filmed the march and helped
 bring it to the attention of others through his blog and his Twitter
 account; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Mata is supported in his endeavors by his wife,
 Alma Mata, and their three children, Tien Leigh, Magnus Alaric, and
 Io Evangeline; and
 WHEREAS, Dedicated to documenting a variety of public events,
 Shaine Mata gave generously of his time to participate in and record
 the Rio Grande Valley VA Hospital March to San Antonio, and in so
 doing, he raised awareness among many people of this significant
 event; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature honor Shaine Mata for his participation in and media
 coverage of the Rio Grande Valley VA Hospital March to San Antonio
 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Mata as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
