| 7 | 7 | | 14-20, 2009, through his diverse media coverage of the event; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The 250-mile march, which began in Edinburg and |

| 9 | 9 | | culminated at the VA hospital in San Antonio, included members of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, as well as veterans of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Vietnam and other wars; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A computer technician and Internet marketing |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | consultant by trade, Mr. Mata is also an avid blogger and podcaster |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and the founder of Advantj Media and Social Media Club of the Rio |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Grande Valley; he photographed and filmed the march and helped |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | bring it to the attention of others through his blog and his Twitter |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | account; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Mata is supported in his endeavors by his wife, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Alma Mata, and their three children, Tien Leigh, Magnus Alaric, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Io Evangeline; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to documenting a variety of public events, |

| 22 | 22 | | Shaine Mata gave generously of his time to participate in and record |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the Rio Grande Valley VA Hospital March to San Antonio, and in so |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | doing, he raised awareness among many people of this significant |

| 25 | 25 | | event; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature honor Shaine Mata for his participation in and media |

| 28 | 28 | | coverage of the Rio Grande Valley VA Hospital March to San Antonio |
