 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The cities of Taylor and Hutto have joined together
 to support the U.S. Army 1st Battalion 4th Aviation Regiment in
 conjunction with the Adopt-A-Unit Program sponsored by the Central
 Texas-Fort Hood Chapter of the Association of the United States
 Army; and
 WHEREAS, The "Dragon" Battalion is part of the Combat
 Aviation Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division out of Fort Hood;
 deployed to Iraq since June 2008, the unit's nearly 400 skilled and
 dedicated soldiers support ground forces with 24 advanced Longbow
 Apache helicopters; and
 WHEREAS, The Taylor and Hutto chambers of commerce,
 ministerial alliances, school districts, and city councils have
 joined together to participate in this exemplary effort to support
 the members of the battalion and their families; and
 WHEREAS, Volunteers have collected personal items for the
 soldiers, provided care packages, staged deployment and welcome
 home events, and written letters and cards in support of the troops;
 participants also offer the families of battalion members
 assistance and encouragement with phone calls and social
 gatherings; and
 WHEREAS, In order to ensure our safety and our freedom, the
 men and women of America's armed forces and their loved ones endure
 hardship and sacrifice, and it is most fitting that the people of
 Hutto and Taylor have found this meaningful way to demonstrate
 their admiration and appreciation; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend the cities of Hutto and Taylor and the
 participating individuals and organizations for their adoption of
 the 1st Battalion 4th Aviation Regiment and extend to all those
 involved in this worthwhile enterprise sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the cities of Taylor and Hutto as an expression of high
 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
