| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Specialist James |

| 6 | 6 | | Lee Adair of Carthage suffered an immeasurable loss with the death |

| 7 | 7 | | of this valiant soldier in Iraq on June 29, 2007, at the age of 26; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | based at Fort Riley, Kansas, Specialist Adair lost his life while |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | bravely serving his country in Baghdad; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Lee Adair was born on November 16, 1980, in Cameron |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | County and grew up in Carthage, where he was a member of American |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Legion Post No. 353; in 2006, he married the former Chelsea Nation, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and at the time of his passing, he eagerly awaited the birth of his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | first child, Avery Lee; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to our nation's |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | servicemen and servicewomen, whose courageous efforts and enormous |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | sacrifices are deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest respect |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and gratitude; through his unwavering dedication to duty and honor, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | James Lee Adair embodied the highest ideals of the United States |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Army, and memories of his love and friendship will forever be |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | cherished by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby honor the memory of U.S. Army Specialist James |

| 27 | 27 | | Lee Adair and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: |
