5	5	WHEREAS, The dedicated professionals at the Dell Children's
6	6	Medical Center of Central Texas have provided exceptional care to
7	7	young patients since this splendid facility opened as a new member
8	8	of the Seton Family of Hospitals on June 30, 2007; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Serving a 46-county referral area, Dell Children's
10	10	features state-of-the-art specialty centers in such areas as asthma
11	11	services, childhood cancer, neurosciences, and neonatal intensive
12	12	care; it has consistently received the Magnet designation, the
13	13	highest mark of nursing excellence, from the American Nurses
14	14	Credentialing Center in recognition of quality patient care and
15	15	innovations in professional nursing practice; and
16	16	WHEREAS, Among the practitioners at Dell Children's are such
17	17	highly regarded doctors as Jose C. Cortez, M.D., a pediatric
18	18	urologist; certified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Cortez
19	19	received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in
20	20	1985, completed his general surgery internship and pediatric/adult
21	21	urology residency at the University of Cincinnati, and pursued his
22	22	pediatric urology fellowship at the University of California in San
23	23	Diego; Dr. Cortez recently provided skilled and compassionate care
24	24	for Francesca Maria Provencio Fischer, the daughter of State
25	25	Representative Trey Martinez Fischer and his wife, Elizabeth
26	26	Provencio; and
27	27	WHEREAS, The staff at Dell Children's Medical Center provide
28	28	consistently high-quality pediatric care through a family-centered
29	29	and multidisciplinary approach; they work in a world-class
30	30	facility, with cutting-edge technology and a wide array of
31	31	specialty resources, and their achievements are contributing
32	32	immeasurably to the health and well-being of countless Texans; now,
33	33	therefore, be it
34	34	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
35	35	Legislature hereby recognize Dell Children's Medical Center of
36	36	Central Texas for its contributions to pediatric health care and
37	37	service to young Texans and commend Dr. Jose C. Cortez and all the
38	38	superb medical professionals on the staff of this fine institution;
39	39	and, be it further
40	40	RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
41	41	for the hospital and Dr. Cortez as an expression of high regard by
42	42	the Texas House of Representatives.
