| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Idaena Wade has been named the 2008-2009 Teacher of |

| 6 | 6 | | the Year at Tina E. Whidby Elementary-Montessori School in Houston; |

| 7 | 7 | | and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of North Texas with a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | degree in business administration, Ms. Wade was inspired to pursue |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | a career in education by her parents, who are both teachers; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding educator teaches third grade at |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Whidby Elementary School, where she successfully fosters |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | enthusiasm for learning among her students by providing a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | stimulating and enjoyable classroom environment; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Wade is also active in her community as a member |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Top Ladies of Distinction, and the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Riceville Mt. Olive Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, There is no more important work than the education |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of our children, and for 22 years Idaena Wade has made a positive |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and lasting contribution to her community by dedicating herself to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | that worthy goal; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby commend Idaena Wade for being named the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 2008-2009 Teacher of the Year by Whidby Elementary School and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | happiness; and, be it further |
|---|
