44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Jeanne Foskett has played a vital role in her
66 community through her service with the YWCA El Paso del Norte
77 Region; and
88 WHEREAS, The El Paso YWCA provides services to empower and
99 enrich the lives of women and girls in the El Paso region, and it is
1010 celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2009; and
1111 WHEREAS, A college administrator and educator, Ms. Foskett
1212 served for eight years on the YWCA's board of directors; during her
1313 tenure, she was instrumental in establishing goals and curriculum
1414 of the Racial Justice Program, taking part in the first class and
1515 going on to become one of the program's trainers; and
1616 WHEREAS, In 2002, Ms. Foskett helped establish the YWCA
1717 Community Building Momentum Leadership Institute, once again
1818 training individuals and leading group sessions; more than 200
1919 people have graduated from the program; and
2020 WHEREAS, Dedicated volunteers play an important role in
2121 communities across the Lone Star State, and for many years, Jeanne
2222 Foskett has served as an inspiring mentor and role model in El Paso
2323 through her work with the YWCA; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby commend Jeanne Foskett for her record of service
2626 with the El Paso YWCA and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
2727 future; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Ms. Foskett as an expression of high regard by the
3030 Texas House of Representatives.
