| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne Foskett has played a vital role in her |

| 6 | 6 | | community through her service with the YWCA El Paso del Norte |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Region; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The El Paso YWCA provides services to empower and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | enrich the lives of women and girls in the El Paso region, and it is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2009; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A college administrator and educator, Ms. Foskett |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | served for eight years on the YWCA's board of directors; during her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | tenure, she was instrumental in establishing goals and curriculum |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | of the Racial Justice Program, taking part in the first class and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | going on to become one of the program's trainers; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In 2002, Ms. Foskett helped establish the YWCA |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Community Building Momentum Leadership Institute, once again |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | training individuals and leading group sessions; more than 200 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | people have graduated from the program; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated volunteers play an important role in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | communities across the Lone Star State, and for many years, Jeanne |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Foskett has served as an inspiring mentor and role model in El Paso |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | through her work with the YWCA; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby commend Jeanne Foskett for her record of service |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | with the El Paso YWCA and extend to her sincere best wishes for the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
