| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Gale has played a vital role in her community |

| 6 | 6 | | through her service with the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The El Paso YWCA provides services to empower and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | enrich the lives of women and girls in the El Paso region, and it is |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2009; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Gale first worked with the YWCA as a member of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the finance committee, offering her expertise as one of El Paso's |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | only female commercial bank lending officers; she later joined the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | YWCA's board of directors; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In particular, Ms. Gale helped to oversee the YWCA's |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Consumer Credit Counseling Service, which aids individuals and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | families in financial crisis, offers advice on credit management, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and provides homebuyer education; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding professional has also served on the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | National YWCA Asset Management Committee, helping to manage |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | millions of dollars in endowment funds of the national |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | organization; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated volunteers play an important role in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | communities across the Lone Star State, and for many years, Nancy |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Gale has served as an inspiring leader and role model in El Paso |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | through her work with the YWCA; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commend Nancy Gale for her long record of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | service with the El Paso YWCA and extend to her sincere best wishes |

| 29 | 29 | | for the future; and, be it further |
