5	5	WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt
6	6	at the loss of U.S. Army First Lieutenant Jeremy Ray of Houston, who
7	7	died in Iraq on December 20, 2007, at the age of 26; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry
9	9	Regiment out of Fort Hood, First Lieutenant Ray died of wounds
10	10	suffered from an explosive device in Kanaan; and
11	11	WHEREAS, Jeremy Ray was a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M
12	12	University, where he was a member of Company H-1 of the Corps of
13	13	Cadets; known as a quiet yet confident young man, he loved the
14	14	outdoors and playing the guitar; and
15	15	WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
16	16	forces, Jeremy Ray inspired others with his leadership and courage,
17	17	and his fellow citizens owe him a profound debt of gratitude that
18	18	the passage of time can never diminish; now, therefore, be it
19	19	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
20	20	Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of First Lieutenant
21	21	Jeremy Ray and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
22	22	family: to his parents, Randy and Debbie Ray; to his brother, Justin
23	23	Ray, and his wife, Allison; to his grandmother, Essie Ray; and to
24	24	his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
25	25	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
26	26	prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
27	27	Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeremy Ray.
