44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned six
66 decades, Carl and Louise Threadgill of Robinson celebrated their
77 60th wedding anniversary on August 2, 2007; and
88 WHEREAS, Carl Threadgill and the former Leta Louise Braden
99 exchanged the vows of matrimony in Waco on that special day in 1947,
1010 and over the course of their marriage they have found in each other
1111 a devoted life partner; Mr. Threadgill served in the U.S. armed
1212 forces during World War II and is retired from the U.S. Postal
1313 Service; Mrs. Threadgill worked for the regional office of the U.S.
1414 Department of Veterans Affairs and is retired; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Threadgill count among their blessings
1616 a fine family that includes their children, Carleta Reichert and
1717 her husband, Rick, Susan Shreffler and her husband, Sam, and Philip
1818 Threadgill and his wife, Terri, as well as five grandchildren,
1919 David, Jennifer, Steven, Cameron, and Ryan, with whom they treasure
2020 sharing the many special occasions of life; and
2121 WHEREAS, Looking back over the past 60 years, Carl and Louise
2222 Threadgill can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and know
2323 that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that many
2424 more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Carl and Louise Threadgill on the
2727 occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them
2828 sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Threadgill as an expression of high regard
3131 by the Texas House of Representatives.
