No. 2421 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love and shared experiences, and George and Ruth Erickson of Waco celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on February 6, 2009; and WHEREAS, George Erickson and the former Ruth Walkup were joined in matrimony in Richland, Missouri, in 1944; through the years they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes two daughters, Eileen Bright and her husband, David, and Margaret Riddle and her husband, Eric, as well as three granddaughters, Sarah, Angela, and Shelley, and a great-granddaughter, Devon; and WHEREAS, Respected and active members of their community, Mr. Erickson is retired from MKT Railroad and Mrs. Erickson retired from Moody Memorial Library at Baylor University; the couple enjoy traveling and are members of First United Methodist Church in Waco; Mr. Erickson has been an amateur radio operator for more than 70 years and Mrs. Erickson enjoys genealogy research; and WHEREAS, George and Ruth Erickson have shared more than six decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate George and Ruth Erickson on their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Erickson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
