| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |

| 6 | 6 | | and shared experiences, and George and Ruth Erickson of Waco |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on February 6, |

| 8 | 8 | | 2009; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, George Erickson and the former Ruth Walkup were |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | joined in matrimony in Richland, Missouri, in 1944; through the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | years they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | two daughters, Eileen Bright and her husband, David, and Margaret |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Riddle and her husband, Eric, as well as three granddaughters, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sarah, Angela, and Shelley, and a great-granddaughter, Devon; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Respected and active members of their community, Mr. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Erickson is retired from MKT Railroad and Mrs. Erickson retired |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | from Moody Memorial Library at Baylor University; the couple enjoy |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | traveling and are members of First United Methodist Church in Waco; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Mr. Erickson has been an amateur radio operator for more than 70 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | years and Mrs. Erickson enjoys genealogy research; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, George and Ruth Erickson have shared more than six |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate George and Ruth Erickson on their |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
