H.R. No. 2425
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Norm and Tippy Gowens of Waco celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on February 27, 2009, and they may indeed
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Gowens exchanged the vows of matrimony
in Lubbock in 1959, and over the course of their marriage, they have
found in each other a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gowens is retired from the Waco VA Regional
Office, and Mrs. Gowens is a homemaker; they count among their
blessings a loving family with whom they share the many special
occasions of life; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Norm and Tippy Gowens have
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Norm and Tippy Gowens on their 50th
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gowens as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
