| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Norm and Tippy Gowens of Waco celebrated their 50th |

| 6 | 6 | | wedding anniversary on February 27, 2009, and they may indeed |

| 7 | 7 | | reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; |

| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Gowens exchanged the vows of matrimony |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in Lubbock in 1959, and over the course of their marriage, they have |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | found in each other a loving life partner; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gowens is retired from the Waco VA Regional |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Office, and Mrs. Gowens is a homemaker; they count among their |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | blessings a loving family with whom they share the many special |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | occasions of life; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, For half a century, Norm and Tippy Gowens have |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, |

| 19 | 19 | | therefore, be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
