| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Velton and Darlene Cunningham of |

| 7 | 7 | | Woodway celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 31, 2008; |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Velton Cunningham and the former Darlene Strickland |

| 10 | 10 | | were united in matrimony in 1958; through the years, they have |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the expansion of their family to include their children, Diana |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Crosby and her husband, Michael, Mark Cunningham and his wife, |

| 14 | 14 | | Jerri, Sarah Donaldson and her husband, David, and Janeen Rape and |

| 15 | 15 | | her husband, Kenneth, their grandchildren, and their |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | great-grandchildren; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Cunningham worked with K-Mart and Central |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Freight Lines before opening C & C Collision Center in 1995, while |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Mrs. Cunningham has been employed for more than 30 years with |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | American Income Life Insurance; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Velton and Darlene Cunningham on |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
