44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Words cannot diminish the sorrow caused by a young
66 life cut short, but all those who shared in the love and friendship
77 of George Frazier Riggs may find comfort in their memories of this
88 exuberant and caring man, who died on May 25, 2008, at the age of 19;
99 and
1010 WHEREAS, Frazier Riggs was born on April 10, 1989, to George
1111 and ViCindy Riggs; a seventh-generation resident of Pecos County,
1212 he was named in honor of his great-great-great-grandfather, who was
1313 the first Pecos County judge; and
1414 WHEREAS, This notable young man was a valued member of the
1515 local 4-H for a decade, and enjoyed showing livestock, shooting
1616 sports, baseball, and football; while attending Fort Stockton High
1717 School, he learned to weld by constructing hunting buggies, and as a
1818 self-taught mechanic, he bought his own Mustang and rebuilt the car
1919 from the ground up; and
2020 WHEREAS, In the evenings, Mr. Riggs further developed his
2121 skills by taking courses in aircraft repair; after graduating from
2222 high school in May 2007, he went on to work on pipelines in Texas,
2323 New Mexico, and Arizona; and
2424 WHEREAS, Mr. Riggs was known for his sunny personality, and
2525 through the years he brightened the lives of others with his
2626 "million dollar smile"; and
2727 WHEREAS, Frazier Riggs lived his days to the fullest,
2828 bringing happiness to many along the way; although he is deeply
2929 missed, those fortunate enough to have known him will forever
3030 remember the joy with which he lived; now, therefore, be it
3131 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3232 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of George Frazier Riggs
3333 and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his
3434 mother, ViCindy Riggs; to his father and stepmother, George and
3535 Glenna Riggs; to his brother, Casey Wayne Riggs; to his sister,
3636 Rheannan Englehart; and to all those who mourn his passing; and, be
3737 it further
3838 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3939 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4040 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of George
4141 Frazier Riggs.
