5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot diminish the sorrow caused by a young |

6 | 6 | | life cut short, but all those who shared in the love and friendship |

7 | 7 | | of George Frazier Riggs may find comfort in their memories of this |

8 | 8 | | exuberant and caring man, who died on May 25, 2008, at the age of 19; |

10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Frazier Riggs was born on April 10, 1989, to George |
---|
11 | 11 | | and ViCindy Riggs; a seventh-generation resident of Pecos County, |
---|
12 | 12 | | he was named in honor of his great-great-great-grandfather, who was |
---|
13 | 13 | | the first Pecos County judge; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This notable young man was a valued member of the |
---|
15 | 15 | | local 4-H for a decade, and enjoyed showing livestock, shooting |
---|
16 | 16 | | sports, baseball, and football; while attending Fort Stockton High |
---|
17 | 17 | | School, he learned to weld by constructing hunting buggies, and as a |
---|
18 | 18 | | self-taught mechanic, he bought his own Mustang and rebuilt the car |
---|
19 | 19 | | from the ground up; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In the evenings, Mr. Riggs further developed his |
---|
21 | 21 | | skills by taking courses in aircraft repair; after graduating from |
---|
22 | 22 | | high school in May 2007, he went on to work on pipelines in Texas, |
---|
23 | 23 | | New Mexico, and Arizona; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Riggs was known for his sunny personality, and |
---|
25 | 25 | | through the years he brightened the lives of others with his |
---|
26 | 26 | | "million dollar smile"; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Frazier Riggs lived his days to the fullest, |
---|
28 | 28 | | bringing happiness to many along the way; although he is deeply |
---|
29 | 29 | | missed, those fortunate enough to have known him will forever |
---|
30 | 30 | | remember the joy with which he lived; now, therefore, be it |
---|
31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
---|
32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of George Frazier Riggs |
---|
33 | 33 | | and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
---|
34 | 34 | | mother, ViCindy Riggs; to his father and stepmother, George and |
---|
35 | 35 | | Glenna Riggs; to his brother, Casey Wayne Riggs; to his sister, |

36 | 36 | | Rheannan Englehart; and to all those who mourn his passing; and, be |
