| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The employees of the Community Supervision and |

| 6 | 6 | | Corrections Department in Collin County make vital contributions to |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | public safety through their important work; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In Collin County alone, the 107 probation officers, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | caseworkers, and staff members in the department directly oversee |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | more than 5,000 people serving probation from felony and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | misdemeanor courts; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Often silent partners, these dedicated public |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | servants make visits to the homes of probationers and parolees and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | serve as problem solvers, crime prevention specialists, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | motivators, educators, facilitators, and more; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, An essential part of the justice system, community |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | corrections professionals work to promote prevention, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | intervention, and advocacy, and their notable efforts benefit |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | victims, offenders, and the greater community; now, therefore, be |
|---|

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby honor the probation, parole, and community |

| 23 | 23 | | supervision employees of Collin County for their outstanding work |

| 24 | 24 | | and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
