| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Diana Wilt is celebrating a significant milestone in |

| 6 | 6 | | her life on May 29, 2009, as she graduates from Grand Saline High |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | School; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Wilt's efforts in the classroom earned her a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Spanish 3 Award, a commendation on her math TAKS test performance, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and the title of Student of the Month; an active participant in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | student government, she has served on the student council for four |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | years, including a tenure as secretary/treasurer, and she was |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | elected class president in her freshman, junior, and senior years; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | she has also been a valued member of the Spanish Club and FFA; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A talented athlete as well, Ms. Wilt has excelled in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | basketball, track, and volleyball, and she earned a volleyball |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | scholarship to Western Texas College; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Wilt has been recognized by her peers with her |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | selection as Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Class Favorite, and she |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | was also awarded the titles of Homecoming Queen, Miss GSHS, and Most |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Athletic; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This notable young Texan has shared her time and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | energy to support those less fortunate within her community; her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | efforts have benefited the local Head Start program, the Salvation |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Army, the Red Cross, and a number of initiatives to provide |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Christmas gifts for the needy; she has also assisted with local |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | blood drives, veterans' appreciation events, and voter |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | registration campaigns; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, With her exceptional academic record, athletic |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | achievements, and contributions to her school and community, Diana |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Wilt has earned the respect and admiration of all who know her, and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | she may indeed look with optimism toward a bright and promising |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | future; now, therefore, be it |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
