H.R. No. 2448
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Clayton and Dorothy Thompson
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 26, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Clayton Thompson and the former Dorothy Sorrels were
united in matrimony at Hewitt United Methodist Church in 1947;
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that
has been made even richer with the addition of three daughters,
Kathy Hill and her husband, John, Donna Winslager and her husband,
David, and Debbie Ducharme and her husband, Galen, as well as four
grandchildren, Michael, Bobby, Clay, and Nicole, and a
great-grandchild, Hannah Rose; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Thompson is retired after 33 years in the animal
health field; Mrs. Thompson is also retired; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Clayton and Dorothy Thompson on
their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Thompson as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
