| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, United States Army Captain Robert Clayton Hinchman |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | of Angleton is an outstanding young American who is indeed worthy of |

| 7 | 7 | | recognition for his accomplishments while serving in this nation's |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | armed forces; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A 2001 graduate of Angleton High School, Clayton |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Hinchman accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | West Point, where he was commissioned a second lieutenant on |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | graduation; after serving as a rifle platoon leader for 22 months, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | he was injured on May 10, 2008, losing a leg to a roadside bomb |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | during a night operations air assault mission northeast of Baghdad; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | today, Captain Hinchman is once again leading an active life with |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the assistance of a state-of-the-art computerized leg, and he is |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | continuing to serve as an officer while completing his recovery at |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Walter Reed Army Medical Center; this strong and caring soldier |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | also recently spent time helping kindergarten students at a school |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | field day in his hometown; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Although the Purple Heart was one award he never |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | wanted to earn, Captain Clayton Hinchman is an inspiration to all |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | who know him, and he has earned the gratitude and admiration of his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | fellow Americans for his remarkable strength, courage, and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | patriotism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commend Captain Robert Clayton Hinchman for his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | valiant service to our country and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | for the future; and, be it further |
