H.R. No. 2483
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned half a
century, Pascual and Maria Martinez of Mineola celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on April 11, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Martinez exchanged the vows of
matrimony in Chicago on that special day in 1959, and over the
course of their marriage, they have found in each other a devoted
life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Martinez count among their blessings a
fine family that includes their children, George Martinez and his
wife, Alicia, Elizabeth Franco and her husband, John, Cynthia
Calzonzi and her husband, James, Gloria Martinez, Regina Martinez,
and Christina Everson, and five grandchildren, Leonel Villanueva,
Matthew Villanueva, James Calzonzi, Eddie Everson, and Ulysys Gunn,
with whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions of life;
and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Pascual and
Maria Martinez can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Pascual and Maria Martinez on the
occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Martinez as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
