| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, James and Ruby Hollis celebrated their |

| 7 | 7 | | 50th wedding anniversary on April 21, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, James Hollis and the former Ruby Compton were united |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | in matrimony in Oklahoma in 1959; through the years, they have |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the addition of two children, Todd Hollis and Leann Crawford, as |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | well as four grandsons, Thomas Crawford, John Crawford, Coye |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Hollis, and Jordan Hollis, and two great-granddaughters, Jawslyn |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and Leslie; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hollis have lived in Mineola for more |

| 16 | 16 | | than four decades, and they own and operate the Bargain Barn Antique |

| 17 | 17 | | Store; and |

| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate James and Ruby Hollis on their |

| 25 | 25 | | golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
